Creativity is the core of goin music group/GMG.
For over 20 years GMG has enjoyed sharing
ideas, opinions and advice to artists. The goal of GMG is to discover, develop and promote new talent in music and the
arts. GMG looks for individuals or groups that have not been found by the masses or those that are ready to take the next
steps into their artistic journey.
Jerry Goin started GMG as a way to give back to others in music
and the arts. Goin, who began promoting bands his senior year in high school got his first real break in the music business
when he was hired as the Radio and Promotions Director at Voice Box Records in 1980 and helped the Blackwood Brothers single,
"We Come To Worship" go number one on the charts and to then further see the album win the Grammy for "Best
Inspirational Album" in 1980. Goin later took over GM responsibilities and with the Blackwoods next release, "I'm
Following You" again enjoyed success with the Blackwoods winning the Grammy in 1983 for "Best Inspirational Album".
Goin
eventually left Voice Box and went into product development and printing. Goin has remained a voting member of NARAS (National
Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) for over twenty years and stays active in the music scene with friends and associates.
"I have been so blessed all these years, and if I can help someone, I will try. Since we began this thing years ago,
it has spread from music into film and arts. We are not a company but rather different people who come and go and whose mission
is to help nurture creativity."
Goin likes to say his "mission" has been made available
thanks to God. "Whatever advice or service that I can provide to others helps me share my beliefs". Goin's enthusiasm
for helping others has extended into his own family. Recently, Alix and Anderson Goin have started their own music ventures.
"With
all the social media that is available everything has changed, the playing field is now level. An unknown artist can become
a sensation with one song or video posted on You Tube, Facebook or whatever will be the next hot media platform. Now is the
perfect time to make yourself known."
